  18. On a Windows NT server with multiple clients stressing file I/O across the
  19. network, switching back and forth between File Manager and other
  20. applications can eventually cause File Manager to stop repainting itself
  21. and become completely frozen to mouse and keyboard input. Stopping and
  22. restarting the server service will unfreeze File Manager.

  27. The cause of this problem is that the Windows NT redirector gets in a
  28. deadlock condition when two similar requests are being processed at the
  29. same time.

  31. STATUS

  34. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT
  35. Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S.
  36. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server. For information
